Follow those steps to update your ATT email server settings:
- Open Outlook Express.
- Select File.
- Go to Account Settings.
- Select email account to update.
- In Internet Email Settings check that you have POP3 or IMAP selected.
- Enter your User Name and Password and check it is correct.
- Check the following details and if not then change it:
- For POP3 accounts, for the Incoming mail server enter inbound.att.net and for the Outgoing mail server enter outbound.att.net.
- For IMAP accounts, for the Incoming mail server enter imap.mail.att.net, and for the Outgoing mail server enter smtp.mail.att.net.
- Go to More Settings.
- Go to Outgoing Server tab.
- Check & Verify the following:
- My
outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is selected.
- Use
same settings as my incoming mail server is checked.
- Go to Advanced tab.
- Enter the following Details in your ATT Email Setting:
- For POP3 accounts, the Incoming server (POP3) port for ATT email is 995, click on checkbox for this server requires a secure connection (SSL), and the Outgoing server (SMTP) port for ATT Email is 465.
- For IMAP accounts, the Incoming server (IMAP) port for ATT email is 993, click on checkbox for this server requires a secure connection (SSL), and the Outgoing server (SMTP) port for ATT Email is 465 or 587.
- Select OK.
- Go on Internet E-mail Settings, click next.
- Select Finish.
